An introduction to using metal clay. Thru the process of making a pendant with a botanic imprint you will learn mold making, handling, forming, refining, firing, polishing and storing metal clay. We will make a mold in class of a bit of nature you that will use in the creation of your silver piece. Emphasis in class is on having fun and exploring your creativity! You will go home with a finished silver pendant.
All tools are provided by the instructor, if you have your own tool kit bring it along! Also bring any plant material or interesting textures you would like to use in your project.
Skill level: beginner
Laura comes from a family with a strong tradition in the arts and sciences. She is a Senior Art Clay Certified instructor, and Rio Grande certified in PMC, she also has degree in Chemistry, and Ornamental Horticulture. She has worked in wide variety of mediums such as textile arts, ceramics, and landscape design. She has been teaching metal clay classes for over ten years across the US.
