Class Fee: $230

Fun and funky rings with a bit of granulation the metal clay way! You will make your ring in two layers. You can choose different textures or none at all. It’s totally up to you. You will learn how to control thickness for comfort and most fun of all how to add granulation without the crazy stress of those little balls moving where you don’t want them. Patina brings out the depth and voila you have a one of a kind funky ring like no other.

Student needs to bring: Fine pink emery board, task lamp with extension cord, magnifiers, small pointed paint brush, Xacto knife, tweezers, needle tool, fine bent nose pliers, flush wire cutter, playing cards or thickness slats, metal clay roller, small metal ruler, HALF round file cut number 2 or 4. If you have access to a steel ring mandrel with no groove bring it with you to save waiting time when you have to share.

Take a piece from the desert home with you in silver! Make a reusable mold and learn how to choose your design from within the mold itself. We will create a metal clay bezel for our kiln safe stone and attach to our piece. After setting up the attachment you can grab lunch while the piece dries. Pop back in and clean it up and into the kiln it will go. Put your things away and go shopping while it fires. When you return you will be ready for patina, polish and chain attachment.
